President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday said the investigation into people involved in the escape of dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo is almost finished.
The President said he met with Justice Secretary Jesus Remulla to discuss the ongoing probe, vowing to take swift action once all individuals involved have been identified.
“We will identify all of those who have, all of those who are involved in this and we will act very quickly,” Mr. Marcos said in an interview.
Asked if he had an idea on whose “heads will roll” over the escape of the former mayor, the President said he had a “very good idea.”
He hinted the investigation could reveal whether the involvement is limited to a single person or if a larger syndicate is behind the situation.
“That’s what we are determining now,” Marcos said.
He added it would involve people from the Bureau of Immigration but did not give additional details on their identity.
