A 57-year old man was shot dead by the father of the child who he allegedly abused in Tondo, Manila.
In John Consulta’s exclusive report on 24 Oras on Wednesday, video showed the suspect calmly walking away from the crime scene.
The victim was shot twice while he was doing his laundry outside his house.
“Binaril siya ng malapitan, habang siya ay nakatalikod, dalawang beses, kaagad niyang ikinamatay. Kamag-anak niya itong naging biktima niya. Nagawa niya ito dahil hinalay ng biktima yung kanyang anak,” said Manila Police District (MPD) director P/Brigadier General Tom Ibay.
(The suspect shot the victim twice at close range from behind, killing him instantly. The suspect and the victim were relatives. The suspect said he killed him because the victim raped his child.)
A follow-up operation of the MPD led to the arrest of the 42-year-old suspect,a security guard.
According to police, the suspect became angry after he found out that the victim abused his 15-year-old child for a year whenever he asked for a massage.
But when the suspect learned that the victim could not be arrested since the crime was committed a year ago and he needed to file charges, the suspect decided to kill the victim instead.
In an interview with GMA Integrated News, the suspect said he did regret killing the victim.
“Kasi sa tingin ko tama naman yun sa kanya yun. Hinalay kasi niya ang anak ko ng mahabang panahon. Masakit kasi syempre lolo siya tapos apo niya ang anak ko,” the suspect said.
