SAN JOSE, Batangas: A 12-year-old boy who was infected with the mpox virus is on his way to recovery, according to the Department of Health (DoH) regional office in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon).
In an interview with reporters at the FPJ Arena during the DoH’s “Run for Healthy Lungs” event, DoH Calabarzon Center for Health Development (CHD) Regional Director and Assistant Secretary Ariel Valencia said that the boy from Balayan town was assisted by the town mayor and local health officers after his swab sample was taken to the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine in Muntinlupa City for testing.
