THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) announced on Friday that it confiscated a total of 211 loose firearms during its intensified campaign since the start of 2024.
QCPD director BGen. Redrico Maranan lauded his men for the “remarkable achievements” in the drive against loose firearms from January to August 28.
Throughout this period, a total of 196 operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 201 individuals by various police stations and units in the city, Maranan said.

“These operations led to the confiscation of 211 firearms,” Maranan said.
Among the police stations, Maranan said, the Novaliches Police Station (PS-4) under LtCol. Morgan Aguilar had the most number of confiscated firearms, followed by the Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS-13) headed by LtCol. Leonie Ann de la Cruz.
Coming third was the La Loma Police Station (PS-1) under Lt.Col. Romil Avenido, the QCPD said.
Maranan said he ordered the setting up of more checkpoints as a preventive measure to ensure the security and safety of the city people.
