MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang suspended classes in all levels and government work in Metro Manila, as well as in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) on Tuesday, September 3, due to inclement weather.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin made the confirmation in a text message to Palace reporters.
The early announcement was to ensure the safety of those residing and working in areas affected by Tropical Storm Enteng.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier instructed frontline government agencies to closely monitor the movement of the storm and provide constant updates to determine the suspension of classes and work in affected areas “before we go to sleep” so that “the people can adjust.”
Marcos emphasized the importance of issuing early advisories to avoid causing inconvenience to the public.
