The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through the AFP Reservist and Retiree Affairs Office (OJ9) has lined up activities for this year’s National Reservist Week (NRW).
This year’s theme, “Tatak ng Laang Kawal para sa Bagong Pilipinas,” celebrates the significant contributions of AFP Reservists to the country’s overall defense posture.
“We celebrate these unsung heroes and recognize that their contributions go beyond military service. Each reservist is a community leader, a skilled professional, and a dedicated family member.” said Major General Joel Alejandro Nacnac, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, J9.
The events and activities will be held from August 1 to September 13, 2024, culminating on September 14, are spearheaded by the Major Service’s Reserve Command (RESCOM), AFP Reserve Command (AFPRESCOM), and the Unified Commands (UCs) across various regions in the country.
On September 7, a Fun Run activity inside Camp Aguinaldo is scheduled to occur.
“This is a great opportunity for runners, enthusiasts, and supporters of our Reservists to come together and make a difference. Let’s run with pride and show our unwavering support,” AFP Reserve Command said.
