A magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit Jomalig, Quezon on Wednesday morning, PHIVOLCS said.
The monitoring agency said the earthquake of tectonic origin, earlier reported at magnitude 5.6, struck the town at 7:16 a.m. and had a depth of 1 kilometer.
State seismologists said no damage was expected but aftershocks are likely.
PHIVOLCS said Intensity III was reported in Quezon City.
Meanwhile, a second tectonic earthquake, this time magnitude 5.0, also struck the same town at 7:55 a.m.—KBK, GMA Integrated News
