Human trafficking charges were filed against 14 of the 168 employees of a POGO hub in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu that was raided by authorities for alleged scam operations.

According to a dzBB report by Rod Vega, the foreigners arrived onboard a Philippine Air Force C-130 aircraft at the Villamor Airbase on Wednesday and were immediately transported to the Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission building in Pasay CIty for inquest and processing.

PAOCC Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz said that there were over 47 Chinese nationals among the employees, in addition to some foreign workers from Indonesia, Myanmar, Taiwan and even some Filipinos.

Those who were not charged will undergo further investigation and debriefing before being processed for deportation.

The foreigners were arrested at a POGO hub that was raided by the PAOCC, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) on August 31.

The operation was launched after authorities received reports the hub was allegedly involved in financial, cryptocurrency and love scams. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
