COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-9 seized P340,000 worth of shabu from two traffickers from faraway provinces who were entrapped on Monday, September 2, in Barangay Anonang in Aurora, Zamboanga del Sur.
Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc, director of PDEA-9, told reporters on Wednesday that the duo, Haiden Lumambas Macasalong and Jomair Kasanguan Amanodin, residents of Salvador, Lanao del Norte and Malabang, Lanao del Sur, respectively, are now both detained, to be prosecuted for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
They were immediately detained after selling 50 grams of shabu, worth P340,000 to PDEA-9 agents and plainclothes policemen during a tradeoff in Purok 1 Matinabangon in Aurora, an operation supported by units of the Police Regional Office-9.
Gadaoni-Tosoc said their agents had also confiscated an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol from the two suspects and impounded their Suzuki minivan that they used in moving around Zamboanga del Sur and in barangays in its capital, Pagadian City, where they peddled their illegal merchandise.
