Former UFC flyweight world champion and ONE flyweight world Demetrious Johnson has retired from mixed martial arts.

Holding a professional record of 25-4-1, Johnson is regarded as one of the best fighters to compete in MMA history. He announced his retirement at ONE 168.

“Like I said last time, When I came here in Denver, Colorado I said that it was potentially my last fight and I was not lying,” Johnson announced.

“I’m done, I’m done competing in mixed martial arts and I would like to thank you guys for giving me the opportunity. I appreciate you guys.”

On top of calling it quits while he is the reigning world champion, Johnson also became the first martial artist to be inducted in the ONE Championship Hall of Fame.
