Thousands of examinees trooped before sunrise to 13 local testing centers in the country on Sunday for the first day of the three-day 2024 Bar Examinations.
The Supreme Court (SC) earlier said the exams will be held on September 8, 11, and 15.
At the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, Quezon City, one of the local testing centers, examinees were cheered by their schoolmates as they entered University Avenue past 5 a.m., according to a report by Carlo Mateo on Super Radyo dzBB.

The SC Public Information Office (SC PIO) then shared photos of examinees at the security checkpoint area before proceeding to their assigned rooms.

At the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) in Sampaloc, Manila, another local testing center, security was tight as Manila Police patrolled the area.

Examinees had to have their bags checked before they were allowed entry into the testing area.

The Office of the Bar Chairperson earlier said the test questions would be geared towards practical skills and jurisprudential perspectives.
Six subjects that would be tackled remained: Political and Public International Law, Commercial and Taxation Laws, Civil Law, Labor Law and Social Legislations, Criminal Law, Remedial Law, and Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises.
Last July, the SC said it received a total of 12,246 applications for the 2024 Bar Examinations.
Roads around Mendiola near San Beda University in Manila were closed, as well as other roads in Manila around UST to secure the area for the exams.
Aside from UP, UST, and San Beda University, the 2024 Bar Exams will be conducted in the following venues:
- Manila Adventist College
- University of the Philippines-Bonifacio Global City
- San Beda College-Alabang
- Saint Louis University
- University of Nueva Caceres
- University of San Jose-Recoletos
- Central Philippine University
- Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation
- Xavier University
- Ateneo de Davao University
