Several dogs died while others were in critical condition due to suffocation after a fire broke out at a house in Barangay Santa Lucia, San Juan City.
“It’s a small fire involving a single room ng isang buong house,” veterinarian and fire volunteer Dr. Jerwin Ng Guan said in Katrina Son’s Sunday report on 24 Oras Weekend. “Tapos yun, andu-dun yung mga dogs nya. Sobrang dami mga pets nila.”
(It was a small fire involving a single room of a house and all their pets were inside that room. They have so many pets.)
The veterinarian’s spouse also helped in giving the dogs medical attention.
According to reports, the owner of the house had almost 90 dogs.
Four of those dogs died, another four dogs were in critical condition, and almost 30 dogs were suffocated.
When Guan visited the house again, he found three more dogs that were still in critical condition.
Meanwhile, one of the four dogs they rescued died.
