Thousands of qualified solo parents in Caloocan City will start receiving P1,000 monthly financial assistance this month, Mayor Dave Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said on Monday.
Malapitan said the beneficiaries must be registered as solo parents and earning an amount equivalent to or below minimum wage.
He said that the city is finalizing the list of qualified solo parents.
“The needs of those belonging to the most vulnerable sectors must also be acknowledged and prioritized first, while my administration continues to protect the interests of all my constituents,” the mayor said.
He vowed that other programs providing benefits to solo parents will continue.
The mayor thanked members of the city council, led by its presiding officer Vice Mayor Anna Karina Teh-Limsico, for supporting programs and projects that need fund allocation.
