MANILA, Philippines — Malacanang on Thursday shot down rumors that Gilbert Teodoro stepped down as secretary of the Department of National Defense (DND), insisting that he still has the “full trust and confidence” of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“The President’s full trust and confidence on Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro has never wavered,” Presidential Communications Office (PCO) acting Secretary Cesar Chavez said in a statement, reacting to online posts about Teodoro’s supposed resignation.
