Seventeen’s Jeonghan announces military enlistment date

Korean superstar Jeonghan of K-pop sensation Seventeen announced on Thursday, Sept. 12, the date of his military enlistment.

After releasing an emotional OT13 video on Wednesday night featuring the group’s single “Circle,” Seventeen’s agency, Pledis Entertainment, stated that Jeonghan is scheduled to enter the military on Sept. 26, Thursday.

“We wish to share the news of Jeonghan’s upcoming enlistment into the military, scheduled for September 26, 2024,” Pledis wrote on the fan community app Weverse.

The label also mentioned that the singer will not be able to participate in the group’s upcoming activities, including the promotion of their comeback album and world tour.

“As announced before, he will not be able to take part in the promotional activities for Seventeen’s 12th mini album and the world tour. However, he will appear in various prerecorded content,” the agency continued.

Pledis also asked fans to understand that no official event will be held on the day of his enlistment.

“There will be no official event on the day of his enlistment, and we kindly request that you refrain from visiting the site of his military service. Please send your heartfelt messages of support for Jeonghan through Weverse,” the post added.

“We ask for your continued love and support for the artist. Kindly send your best wishes for his safe and healthy return. We will also stay committed to providing Jeonghan with all the necessary support during this time,” Pledis stated.

Jeonghan is the first among the members to fulfill his military duties.
