THE National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Sunday that six people were reported dead and two others missing due to Tropical Storm Ferdie and the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat.
Four of the reported fatalities are from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The two others were said to have been recorded in Zamboanga Peninsula. All six fatalities are subject to validation.
Meanwhile one missing person was recorded in the Zamboanga Peninsula and another in western Visayas.
The NDRRMC said 203,197 people, or 47,166 families from 292 barangay, were affected.
Of the number, 13,825 are in evacuation centers, while 22,801 are seeking temporary shelters elsewhere.
