MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.5 earthquake shook the province of Masbate Monday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Tectonic in origin, the earthquake occurred at 11:29 a.m. some 10 kilometers southwest of San Jacinto in Masbate and had a depth of 26 kms, Phivolcs said.
Intensity 4 was felt by residents in Masbate City.
Phivolcs director Teresito Bacolcol said damage to infrastructure and aftershocks were not expected.
