De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde on Wednesday achieved its best finish under head coach Charles Tiu thus far, blazing to a hot 4-0 start in the NCAA Season 100 after crushing Perpetual in a lopsided manner.

The Blazers hope this will also translate to the best finish — a championship — with the fourth-year tactician calling the shots.

“So gusto ko lang din na matulungan ‘yung team and kailangan lang talaga namin maging solid pa-playoffs,” Justine Sanchez, who top-scored Benilde against the ALTAs, said.

“Sana magtuloy-tuloy and sana maging successful kami hanggang sa championship.”

The Blazers seemed to be on track for that goal.

At 4-0, Tiu and Benilde had already flaunted their bench’s depth and balance, with the likes of Allen Liwag, Tony Ynot, Gab Cometa, Jhomel Ancheta, and Sanchez leading the way in those games.

So far, this is working for the Blazers as they are now the only unbeaten team in the league while the rest of the field are in a logjam.

“Marami kaming mabubunot every game and we’ll just go to whoever is playing well. That’s the type of team we want,”  added Tiu, who joined Benilde in 2021.

“It’s hard to find minutes for everybody and a lot of guys can play, but as long as we’re winning, nobody’s gonna complain naman.”
