MANILA, Philippines — About 28 million passport holders may have been compromised after the government-run service provider of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) failed to install a cybersecurity system that could have protected their information and other data, a DFA official said during the agency’s budget hearing at the Senate on Thursday.
The APO Production Unit Inc., a government-owned and -controlled organization (GOCC), is in charge of printing Philippine passports.
