The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday expressed support for the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) amid calls for the body’s abolition.
“I can attest that this program is very effective and very good,” DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. said during the budget briefing of his department and its attached agencies.
“For me, this should not only be continued, but also strengthened,” he added.
PNP chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil shared Abalos’ view, saying the NTF-ELCAC should be retained.
