The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) has officially nominated Senator Bong Go, Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and actor Philip Salvador as their senatorial bets for election 2025.
PDP-Laban officially announced this at their national assembly in Davao City Friday night and the nominations were accepted by the three senatorial bets.
Go and Dela Rosa are both up for reelection in 2025.
During the assembly, PDP Laban also nominated Senator Robin Padilla, the party president, as the senatorial candidates’ campaign manager.
Former President Rodrigo Duterte, who attended the event, hailed the members who have remained and stood by the party ….”even if we don’t have money or backers.”
The party also signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Partido Reporma, Hugpong ng Pagbabago, Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan(PDDS), and Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte National Executive Coordinating Committee (MRRD NECC) for Eleksyon 2025.
This agreement would also allow the PDP-Laban to accept nominations of other potential candidates from other parties until October 8, according to PDP-Laban Vice Chairman Alfonso Cusi.
A special committee was formed to accept nominations from senatorial candidates of other parties.
Meanwhile, Cusi also announced that PDP-Laban will retain the word “Laban” from the official name of the party to avoid technicalities with the Commission on Elections in the 2025 elections.
A resolution inviting Vice President Sara Duterte, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte and Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte to be members of the party was also adopted.
Mayor Duterte has already joined PDP-Laban and was named as the party’s executive vice president.
Also present at the national assembly were Cusi, Padilla, Go, Dela Rosa, Mayor Duterte, PDP-Laban Vice President Michael Rama, among others. —LDF, GMA Integrated News
