The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it is set to submit the official medical findings of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy to the Pasig Regional Trial Court.

This, after the pastor’s camp earlier made a motion before the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 for the hospital arrest of Quiboloy and one of his co-accused, Ingrid Canada, in Davao City.

The judge, in response, required the PNP to facilitate Quiboloy’s medical checkup with government doctors.

PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said that it is up to Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159 to decide whether they will base their decision on the findings of doctors from the PNP General Hospital, or a hearing still needs to be conducted, according to a dzBB report of Carlo Mateo on Sunday.

Fajardo said that the PNP will respect and abide by the Pasig court’s decision.

She also said Quiboloy is in good medical condition, based on the daily assessment of nurses at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, where he is currently detained.

Last Wednesday, the PNP said the religious leader underwent medical examinations. Aside from government doctors, his health is also being monitored by his personal physician.

Arrest warrants were issued against Quiboloy and others for alleged violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act as well as qualified human trafficking.

Quiboloy and his other co-accused have pleaded not guilty to these cases.

The KOJC leader has also been indicted by a federal grand jury in the US District Court for the Central District of California for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion and sex trafficking of children; sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion; conspiracy; and bulk cash smuggling.
