The Bureau of Immigration has arrested a Chinese national wanted for kidnapping.

In a statement on Thursday, the BI said 37-year-old suspect Hu Yang was arrested in an operation with Chinese authorities in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque on Monday.

Hu Yang, alias Lin Zihao, was allegedly part of a kidnapping syndicate that tortured and kidnapped their victims.

He was tagged as a fugitive after he was declared wanted by the Public Security Bureau of Jinjiang City in China for kidnapping. His passport has already been revoked.

“His arrest is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to apprehend foreign criminals hiding in the Philippines. We will continue to work with our counterparts abroad to ensure that those who break the law are held accountable,” said BI Officer-in-Charge Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.

Hu’s accomplices were repoertedly arrested earlier this year in different parts of Metro Manila and Pampanga.

Meanwhile, he will remain under police custody due to an active local case in the country. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/AOL, GMA Integrated News
