Marcos declares special non-working days in 5 areas

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in five localities in the country.

The holiday declarations were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, according to a media release from the Presidential Communications Office on Sunday.

Marcos issued Proclamation No. 693, declaring Friday, October 4, 2024, a special non-working day in Infanta, Pangasinan for its 148th Founding Anniversary.

The President issued similar declarations through Proclamation No. 694 for Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur, for the celebration of its 67th Founding Anniversary on Wednesday, October 16, 2024; and through Proclamation No. 695 for Negros Oriental for the celebration of the Buglasan Festival on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Also, Proclamation No. 696 declared Saturday, October 26, 2024, a special non-working day for Angeles City, Pampanga, to pave the way for the celebration of the Tigtigan Terakan Keng Dalan Festival, a commemoration of the city’s recovery from the Mt. Pinatubo eruption in June 1991.

With Proclamation No. 697, the President declared Monday, October 28, 2024, a special non-working day in the municipality of Dingle, Iloilo. The Chief Executive added this will allow the people of Dingle to participate in the commemoration of Cry of Lincud, the first declaration of revolution against Spain in Iloilo province and Panay island.—RF, GMA Integrated News
