CALOOCAN Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan has declared his bid for reelection, aiming for a second term as the city’s highest official.
Turning 45 next month, Malapitan made the announcement in front of thousands of supporters at the proclamation rally held on Saturday.
The event was also attended by public officials who also declared their support for Malapitan, including Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, Makati Mayor Abby Binay, Sens. Imee Marcos and Francis Tolentino, and Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar.
The former lawmaker thanked his constituents for their continued trust and support.
“Because of the trust and support of the city residents, I was able to realize most of my campaign promises,” he said.
Malapitan said his administration has still more pro-people programs to be implemented if he will be given another chance to serve as mayor.
With his running mate, incumbent Vice Mayor Anna Karina Teh-Limsico, Malapitan has been hailed by the residents for bringing the City Hall closer to them by constantly going around and mingling with them.
Second District Rep. Mary “Mitch” Cajayon-Uy will also seek a reelection bid under Malapitan’s team.
