MALABON City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval filed her certificate of candidacy (CoC) to seek a second term on Thursday at the Commission on Elections office in Robinsons Town Mall, Tinajeros.

Sandoval’s running mate, 2nd District Councilor Edward Nolasco, also filed his CoC for vice mayor.

Sandoval’s husband, former Malabon representative Federico Sandoval, filed his CoC on Wednesday to run anew for the post.

Federico Sandoval was considered the “Father of Malabon Cityhood,” being the author of Republic Act 9019, or the Malabon City Charter.

Currently the chairman of the Philippine Red Cross-Malabon Chapter, he vowed to work hand-in-hand with the city government in providing affordable housing and health care to Malabon residents.
