Incumbent Muntinlupa City Mayor Ruffy Biazon filed his certificate of candidacy on Friday as he seeks another term to lead the city.
Biazon is running under the banner of local political party One Muntinlupa.
He is running along with Barangay Poblacion captain Allen Ampaya for vice mayor and Muntinlupa City Lone District Rep. Jaime Fresnedi, who is also seeking reelection in the House of Representatives.
The One Muntinlupa slate also consists of aspirants for councilors of the city’s 1st and 2nd districts.
A group of supporters with blue balloons accompanied them during their filing of candidacies.
Prior to his candidacy for mayoralty in 2022, Biazon was a congressman from 2001 to 2010, and served again at the lower chamber from 2016 to 2022.
Biazon was also a Bureau of Customs commissioner from 2011 to 2013 during the administration of former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
