President Ferdinand ”Bongbong” Marcos Jr. turned over P100 million from the Office of the President to the local government of Ilocos Norte on Friday following the onslaught of Typhoon Julian.
Together with other government officials, Marcos visited the province to assess the damage brought by the bad weather. The check from the Office of the President was handed to Governor Matthew Manotoc.
Marcos also led the distribution of cash assistance under the ‘Ayuda Para sa Kapos ang Kita’ (AKAP) program, bringing relief to residents affected by Julian at the Metro Gabu Covered Court in Laoag City.
The AKAP program is simultaneously rolled out in various parts of the province. In Piddig, 2,000 residents received aid while beneficiaries in Pagudpud and Bangui numbered 500 and 300 individuals, respectively.
