MANILA, Philippines — Drag queen Maxie Andreison is the country’s newest drag superstar after being crowned the winner of “Drag Race Philippines” Season 3.

Other than a crown and scepter, Maxie is taking home P1 million and one-year supply of cosmetics from Anastasia Beverly Hills.

This season’s finale followed suit from the most recent iteration of the main American version, a talent show combined with three different runway looks.

The three runway looks were as follows: First Time’s a Charm (a reinterpretation of their first drag look), Art Attack Extravaganza (art-inspired drag), and Come in Your Best Drag (the queens’ best looks).

For the talent show, Maxie was the only one who did a live performance. Runner-up Maxie and Maxie’s sister Angel did lip-sync performances while Tita Baby — who finished joint-third with Angel — did a comedic musical performance.

Maxie was crowned by last season’s winner Captivating Katkat just as main judge and host Paolo Ballesteros praised the third season’s cast for being iconic and arguably the best local version yet.

Versex, the first queen eliminated since Angel was saved in Week 2, was selected by the cast as Miss Congeniality.

Going into the season, Maxie was among the high-profile queens and favorites to win having competed on the second season of “Queen of the Universe” but departed at fifth place due to medical reasons, the only contestant to ever do so.

She is the third “Queen of the Universe” to compete on “Drag Race” and the first to win. Maxie and Angel are also the second pair of sibling to compete on “Drag Race” after Sugar and Spice on the 15th season of the American edition.

En route to the final Maxie won the three Maxi challenges and RuBadges, a first for Drag Race Philippines, and the first local queen to win back-to-back badges.

Maxie also made history by being the first Filipino drag queen to reach the local finale without ever being in the bottom.

Among Maxie’s highlights in Season 3 were her multiple interactions with Angel, the “Super Queens” episode where she gave her father a drag makeover (Angel’s partner was their mother), and her Babae sa Balete Drive “Snatch Game KNB?” performance bantering with Tita Baby’s Kamatayan.
