BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A Grade 11 student drowned after falling into an irrigation canal following a motorcycle accident in Barangay Ipil, Tabuk City, Kalinga on Thursday.
Investigators said victim Precious Kate Arcio was on a motorcycle along with another passenger, Ashlyn Tandingan, when the driver lost control, throwing them into the irrigation canal.
Tandingan was immediately rescued by residents and rushed to the Kalinga provincial hospital for treatment.
Arcio, however, was not immediately found. Her body was recovered in another barangay yesterday.
