State-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said it signed three nonbinding agreements with Korean agencies and the private sector to leverage Korean expertise in smart city infrastructure, affordable housing and sports facility management.
BCDA president and chief executive Joshua Bingcang said the new memoranda of agreement would enhance New Clark City’s appeal as an investment and tourism destination.
“The expertise of our Korean partners will be invaluable in helping us set new standards for urban development in the Philippines. We are excited to work together to create a vibrant and sustainable city that benefits both Filipinos and international investors,” he said.
BCDA and RMS Platform signed a memorandum of understanding on Oct. 7, 2024 to explore the development of a comprehensive e-government platform for New Clark City.
The platform will serve as a one-stop shop for residents and businesses, offering access to city information, online services and transactions.
BCDA and the Korea Overseas Infrastructure and Urban Development Corporation (KIND) will also collaborate on studies for developing affordable and sustainable residential communities within New Clark City.
The goal is to create high-quality, cost-effective housing options for Filipino families.
BCDA and Korea-based Fine TME formed a partnership to explore ways to improve the efficiency and maintenance of New Clark City’s sports facilities.
The partnership aims to promote the city as a premier hub for national and international sporting events. The MOU signings coincided with the first state visit of Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol to the Philippines last week.
