After her two long-running GMA-7 shows, Sarap ‘Di Ba? and Abot-Kamay na Pangarap, concluded, Carmina Villarroel revealed her plans to take a short break. The host-actress mentioned that the demands of Abot-Kamay na Pangarap had been exhausting after two years on air, and she intends to rest before considering new TV projects.
There are also rumors about Carmina and her twins, Mavy and Cassy Legaspi, potentially switching networks after she departs from GMA-7. However, she clarified that nothing is official yet.
“I’m amazed at how fast rumors spread! I can’t say anything yet because nothing is concrete. I’ve been in this business for a long time, and one great lesson I’ve learned is never to burn bridges because the industry is small. For now, I will just rest, then we’ll see what happens!”
At present, the seasoned actress is ready to let go of her character in her top-rating soap opera.
“Yes! I really have to let go of Lyneth’s character so I can move on to other things, right?”
As her show is about to wrap up, she expressed her gratitude to the Kapuso management.
“It’s been a great experience working on this project, and we’re happy that it became a hit, ratings-wise. I’m forever thankful to GMA for giving me the role!”
While waiting for her next TV project, Carmina will keep herself busy shooting a movie.
“That’s right! I’m doing a potboiler opposite Allen Dizon. We’ve already started shooting, and by November, we’ll fly to Canada where some of the major scenes will be filmed,” she concluded.

In a recent TV appearance, Lovi Poe explained why she doesn’t want to be referred to as a Hollywood actress despite having done two international films, The Chelsea Cowboy and Bad Man.
“I think I consider myself just an actress, in general. That’s how I see myself, and I could be acting anywhere. I’m always here,” she said.
The actress compared working abroad to working in the Philippines.
“Well, Hollywood is a bit more subtle. They’ll ask you to tweak things if they want to go higher or lower, but it’s more of a subtle conversation. Here in our country, the system is different.”
It was reported that Lovi will be included in the cast of a movie to be produced and directed by Garry Brown, who was behind Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Prison Break.
On the local front, the actress will be seen next in Regal Entertainment’s Guilty Pleasure opposite JM De Guzman and Jameson Blake.
