A 72-year-old man in Zarraga, Iloilo died after his wife repeatedly hit him on the head with a dumbbell.
According to John Consulta’s report “State of the Nation,” the wife surrendered to the police.
The incident has surprised the couple’s neighbors because they seemed to have never had a misunderstanding.
“You cannot hear them fighting. They are, in fact, very sweet with each other because one of them can’t eat without the other one,” a neighbor said.
The suspect’s sister explained that she had been suffering from a mental disorder for a longtime.
She added that the suspect could not sleep recently and someone was whispering to her to commit the crime. —Vince Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
