THE Caloocan City government on Wednesday said it would build a shelter for children.

The facility, to be named “Tahanang Mapagpala” (Blessed Home), would be constructed in Barangay 171, Bagumbong.

“Upon its completion, Tahanang Mapagpala is set to house and care for the abandoned, neglected, abused, and foundling girls of all ages,” Mayor Along Malapitan said during the project’s groundbreaking ceremony attended by Caloocan 1st District Rep. Oscar Malapitan and key city officials.

“This will also cater to the needs of young boys aged seven years and below who are experiencing the same circumstances,” the mayor added, noting the facility would be managed by the City Social Welfare and Development Department.

Seeking re-election, Malapitan said his administration was committed to implementing comprehensive and sustainable policies for the benefit of Caloocan residents.
