The annual Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is taking place this week at the famed Victoria Harbour Front on TST and there is much to look forward to.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board has extended the festival to 5 days, from October 23 to 27, so visitors will surely have their fill. If you’re headed to Hong Kong this weekend, consider making a stop at the Wine & Dine Festival. Below are five things you can expect.
1. Sample delicious delights from all over the world. This year, there are more than 300 tasting booths offering experiences from 35 countries participating in the festival. Popular wine regions like Bourdeaux, France, and Argentina will be there alongside newer wine producing countries like Australia. But that’s not all. Japan, China Finland, and Thailand, will also have their areas. And then there’s a craft beer station, whisky and gin, sake, and cocktails for a full kahuna of beverages.
2. Check out Culinary Stars. It’s this year’s new thematic zone, which will showcase a dozen chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants, Bib Gourmand recommended eateries, and selected Asia’s 50 Best Bars. On the agenda are The Aubrey, The Baker & The Bottleman, and Chinesology, to name a few.
3. Enjoy the Tasting Theater. There’s also something for those looking to learn, as well. The Tasting Theatre offers 19 themed workshops from food and wine pairing workshops to truffle tasting workshops, to reimagining the Caesar Salad there’s quite the selection. Note though that each workshop requires a separate ticket from the event admission.
4. There’s going to be a Halloween party! After 6pm on Halloween weekend, there’s going to be consumed performers for fun games. Attendees are encouraged to come in their best costumes.
5. Of course there’s going to be music. What’s a wine and dine festival without proper music? This year, there’s going to be a mini stage right in front of the promenade for a cool street vibe, on top of the main stage. Local Hong Kong performers are on the list, alongside regional acts from Malaysia, South Korea, and South Africa. Pinoy visitors should definitely look forward to Kasa, a Filipino-Japanese artist raised in Hong Kong will be performing as well.
The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival will take place at the Central Harbourfront Event Space. October 23-27, 2024. Starts HKD40. Tickets
