National Museum to host workshop on Negrito community traditions

The National Museum of the Philippines will conduct a workshop on the traditional ecological knowledge of healing and food preparation by the Negrito community.

The workshop, led by Negrito youth and elders, will include a demonstration of traditional healing practices. Following the workshop, there will be a screening of the documentary Pamaw-a, which highlights the Negrito groups’ knowledge of traditional food preparation and addresses contemporary issues facing their community.

In collaboration with Sentrong Pagpapalakas ng Negritong Kultura at Kalikasan (SPNKK), the event is part of the Museums and Galleries Month and the National Indigenous People’s Month. It will take place at the San Miguel Corporation Exhibition Hall at the National Museum of Anthropology on Oct. 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Those interested can register at https://bit.ly/47Q18hj.
