At least 30 road sections are closed to the onslaught of Tropical Storm Kristine, the Department of Public Works and Highways said Wednesday.
These roads are impassable due to the following reasons:
Cordillera Administrative Region
- Apayao (Calnasan) – Ilocos Norte Rd (flooding)
- Claveria – Calanasan – Kabugao Rd (soild collapse)
Calabarzon
- Gumaca – Pitogo – Lulanay – San Narciso Rd (flooding and landslide)
- San Francisco – San Andres – San Narciso Rd (flooding)
- MSR Lopez – Catanauan Rd (flooding)
- Catanauan Road – Buenavista Rd (roadslip and landslide)
Mimaropa
- Sibuyan Circumferential Rd (soil collapse and fallen trees)
Bicol Region
- DM Jct – Legazpi – Sto. Domingo -Tabaco – Tiwi – Camarines Sur Bdry. Road (collapsed detour road of ongoing bridge lengthening)
- Comu – Inarado -Peñafrancia Road (fallen trees)
- Albay West Coast Road (flooding and soil collapse)
- Ligao – Pio Duran Rd (collapsed pavement)
- Oas Poblacion Road (flooding)
- Polangui Poblacion (flooding)
- Libon – Bacolod – San Vicente – MarocmocBuga Rd (flooding)

- Gate – Bula Aiport Road, Barangay San Isidro, Bulan, Sorsogon (deployment of maintenance crew for clogging and cleaning of drainage and culvert)
- Maharlika Highway (K0626+400 (LS) (clearing operations)
Eastern Visayas
- Calbayog – Catarman Road, K0805+000 – K0806+000 Barangay Oqiendo, Calbayog City, Samar (flooding)
The department also said seven road sections have limited access due to flooding and soil or rock collapse.
“The DPWH is actively monitoring and clearing roads to ensure the safety and accessibility of the national road network, which is crucial for relief efforts in the affected areas,” DPWH said in a social media post.
Signal No. 2 is hoisted over 30 areas as Kristine maintains its strength over the sea east of Aurora.
It was last spotted 155 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness of up to 105 kph, moving northwestward at 10 kph.
Kristine is forecast to make landfall over Isabela on Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
