MANILA, Philippines — Former vice president Leni Robredo on Friday morning activated a special network in conducting relief operations in areas outside Naga City that suffered the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine.”
“We have activated our Angat Bayanihan Network to do relief operations in areas outside Naga which have also suffered the same fate from Typhoon Kristine,” Robredo said on Facebook.
She urged those willing to help to donate to their partners in the Tanging Yaman Foundation.
Robredo also posted photos from the Angat Buhay nongovernment organization showing volunteers giving 800 packed meals to Albay residents. She also reported that 25 community pantries and kitchens were also opened in Sorsogon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Albay and would also include operations in Camaligan and Canaman.
The Angat Buhay chairman also reported that as of 8 a.m., the Bangon Naga Donation Drive for Kristine victims has reached nearly P13.5 million in cash donations.
Camarines Sur was one of the hardest hit provinces from Kristine.
