MANILA, Philippines — Over 10,000 people from 115 ports nationwide were stranded following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm “Kristine,” according to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Friday.
In its report from 12 midnight to 4 a.m. on Friday, the PCG said that of the 10,236, 4,247 were in northwestern Luzon, 2,436 in northeastern Luzon, 1,112 in Western Visayas, 840 in Southern Tagalog, 658 in northeastern Mindanao, 357 in Southern Visayas, 341 in Central Visayas, 162 in the National Capital Region and 83 in Northern Mindanao.

Likewise, a total of 2,699 rolling cargoes, 96 vessels, and 17 motor bancas were forced to stay put while 317 vessels and 263 motor bancas took shelter due to effects of the storm.
