MANILA, Philippines — After almost 40 years of guitar-making experience, RJ Guitars is the first Philippine guitar brand to break into the US market.
RJ Guitars is leading a new trend of highly affordable quality electric guitars invading the US market with the first-ever $99 stainless steel fret guitar. The RJ Basic Electrics is the first-ever guitar at this price range to incorporate stainless steel frets – a feature previously reserved for high-end guitars costing thousands of dollars.
Launched via Amazon on Oct. 20, RJ Guitars’ $99 electric guitar with stainless steel frets has been exceeding sales expectations.
In recent years, guitars made outside the US have gained ground among US consumers via ecommerce sites.
Even Fender guitars had to reposition by launching a $119 guitar through its Squire brand. The model does not have stainless steel frets, or steel strips imbedded in the fingerboard neck of guitars, which are critical to the playability of the guitar.
Adding to the excitement surrounding the launch, the RJ Basic Electrics guitar was recently reviewed by Philip McKnight, one of the world’s most respected and meticulous guitar reviewers, on his popular YouTube channel, “Know Your Gear.” In his review, McKnight praised the guitar’s outstanding features, remarking on the impressive value RJ Guitars has brought to the market. This positive endorsement from such an influential figure in the community further solidifies RJ Guitars’ growing reputation worldwide.
RJ Guitars’ mission of providing high-quality, affordable instruments has long resonated with Filipino musicians. With its expansion, RJ Guitars offers guitar enthusiasts in the US the same value-driven innovation.
