President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Saturday assured evacuees in Naga, Camarines Sur, that the government will continue to provide support and assistance in the wake of devastating floods that have displaced families and inundated communities.

The President, who was in Camarines Sur to assess the damage of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine, checked on the evacuees and observed the aid distribution.

He said that cash assistance provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) would be distributed to help families meet their immediate needs, particularly for those able to return home.

Returning residents will also receive additional food packs to support them as they begin recovery efforts.

“We understand the weight of what happened and the impact of the massive flooding… The government is here to help, and we will continue providing support for as long as it’s needed,” Mr. Marcos said.

“Rest assured, we have not forgotten you, and we will continue thinking of ways to support you,” he told evacuees before departing.

The President was accompanied by several government officials, including local leaders and members of his Cabinet, whom he encouraged residents to approach if they needed further assistance.
