The Philippine Army is advocating for a safe and secure environment ahead of the May 2025 National and Local Elections.

“We should dominate the security environment because we want everybody to feel secure. This is the only way that ordinary people will feel safe casting their vote,” Philippine Army Chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido stated during his keynote remarks at the 6th Infantry Division (Kampilan) headquarters in Maguindanao del Norte.

Lt. Gen. Galido emphasized that Kampilan troopers have served as the “stabilizers of peace” in Maguindanao for the past 37 years.

“By next year, our efforts will be the game changer for peace because this will be the first time that the government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will be elected,” he remarked.

During his visit, the Army Chief also led a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Battalion Commanders’ Den, which will provide improved living spaces for Kampilan battalion commanders within Camp Siongco.
