At least one to two tropical cyclones could enter the Philippine area of responsibility in November, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
These are likely to develop into a typhoon or a super typhoon, which are forecast to make landfall based on local records since 1948.
Weather specialist Benison Estareja said typhoons often make landfall every November in Luzon, the Visayas, and the Caraga region.
“For the month of November, in terms of intensity, it could possibly become a typhoon and super typhoon. And in particular, for this year, one or two storms may enter,” Estareja said.
He added that the chances of these deviating or recurving here in the Philippine Sea are getting smaller.
The tropical cyclones would be named “Marce” and “Nika.”
