Filipinos used the long weekend to relax while paying respects to departed loved ones.
In a report on ”24 Oras Weekend” on Saturday, Kim Salinas of GMA Regional TV said the Malay Tourism Office recorded over 16,000 tourists in Boracay from October 30 to November 1.
Visitors engaged in water activities and snapped photos at picturesque spots.
Some 2,000 people also visited Boracay’s two cemeteries.
During the four-day weekend, tourists also went to the City of Pines.
The Baguio City Police Office said it expects more than 10,000 tourists to flock to the city this weekend, according to Claire Lacanilao-Dungca’s report.
More than 1,000 police officers and volunteer groups were also deployed in various public places in the city.
Local authorities also advised motorists to park in designated parking areas and follow traffic rules. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
