BDO Foundation and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) teamed up with local government units (LGUs) to enhance financial literacy among government personnel and communities.
In partnership with the local government of Odiongan, Romblon, the Foundation and BSP recently held a three-day training of trainers for local officials, cooperative members, and community representatives. The training equipped participants with financial knowledge to help them make informed decisions within their communities.
“Today is about both learning and empowering others through financial education. With a shared goal of uplifting every Odionganon, financial education is a vital tool for achieving greater community goals, “ said Odiongan mayor Trina Firmalo-Fabric.
The session covered essential topics like financial planning, budgeting, debt management, and digital finance literacy.
“We hope to continue conducting these sessions and create a multiplier effect across local communities—to share knowledge that is not only engaging and informative but also inspiring,” said BSP economic and financial learning office director Marianne Santos.
