“The lapse footage of gray ash being entrained or brought out by continuous degassing from the Kanlaon Volcano summit crater,” PHIVOLCS said in a post in X.
It said that the “ashing” event was observed at 11:49 a.m. to 12:02 p.m. today.
There were no detectable seismic or infrasound signals recorded.
“The events generated light-gray plumes that rose 500 meters above the crater before drifting south Recorded by the Canlaon City Observation station IP Camera.”
Meanwhile, based on the volcano bulletin, 31 volanic earthquakes occurred from November 1 (12 a.m.) to November 2 (12 a.m.).
PHIVOLCS said it released 6,993 tons of sulfur dioxide.
Alert Level 2 remains over Mount Kanlaon which means “increased unrest.” Sudden steam-driven or phreatic eruptions may occur in the volcano, according to PHIVOLCS.
