THE Global AI Council Philippines (Global AI PH) and the National Development Company (NDC) formally launched a strategic partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the NDC office in Makati City.
This partnership aims to foster AI adoption nationwide, with strong backing from both public and private leaders.
A flagship event, the Global AI Congress — also known as Sonai (State of the Nation in Artificial Intelligence) — is set to take place on Jan. 22, 2025, to showcase national AI initiatives and bring together diverse stakeholders from government, academia and private sector.
Through this congress, Global AI PH intends to establish a sustainable network to strengthen and coordinate national AI efforts.
The NDC’s commitment to innovation includes establishing the Philippine Innovation Hub by 2025, a center designed to support startups in AI and emerging technologies.
Additionally, the council’s chairman, Brian Poe Llamanzares, emphasized the importance of collaboration for impactful AI policies.
Global AI PH’s Board of Trustees will also participate in key industry events, including the Singapore Fintech Festival and Philippine Tech Connect, to expand international ties and opportunities.
Global AI PH’s Advisory Group, composed of leaders from major firms like Accenture, Microsoft, UnionBank and Huawei, further supports the council’s mission to build an inclusive and innovative AI ecosystem in the Philippines.
The upcoming congress, Sonai, will culminate in a report and directory of initiatives, enabling cross-collaboration to advance the country’s position in AI and technology across Southeast Asia.
