President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has signed into law 11 measures creating additional court branches in areas across the Philippines. With this, a total of 44 new court branches will be established.
By virtue of 11 Republic Acts disseminated by Malacañang on Sunday, Marcos ordered the creation of the following court branches:
- 12 additional branches of the Regional Trial Court in the Fourth Judicial Region to be stationed in Las Baños, Cabuyao, Laguna
- One additional branch of the Municipal Trial Court in Cabuyao, Laguna
- Two additional branches of the Regional Trial Court and two additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in cities Pagadian, Zamboanga Del Sur
- 10 additional branches of the Regional Trial Court and eight additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Antipolo, Rizal
- Two additional branches of the Regional Trial Court in Samal, Panabo, Davao del Norte
- Four additional branches of the Regional Trial Court and four additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Ormoc, Leyte
- Two additional branches of the Regional Trial Court in Tubod, Lanao Del Norte
- One additional branch of the Municipal Trial Court in Malaybalay, Bukidnon
- Two additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in Bacolod, Negros Occidental
- Three additional branches of the Regional Trial Court and two additional branches of the Metropolitan Trial Court in Navotas
- Three additional branches of the Municipal Trial Court in San Carlos, Pangasinan
- Two additional branches of the Regional Trial Court in Gingoog, Misamis Oriental
Meanwhile, in two other enacted laws, Marcos approved the upgrade of the Basilan General Hospital in Isabela, Basilan into a Level III to be known as the Basilan Medical Center; and the establishment of a Multi-species Marine Hatchery in Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur. — Jon Viktor Cabuenas/ VDV, GMA Integrated News
