Watsons, the flagship health and beauty brand under A.S. Watson Group, is expanding its footprint in the Philippines with plans to open 90 new stores in 2025.
The brand is on track to meet its target of 82 store openings this year, which would bring its total network in the country to over 1,300 by next year.
Watsons Philippines senior assistant vice president Sharon Decapia said the expansion would intensify in November and December to achieve the 2024 goal of 82 new stores.
“We are in a very good position,” Decapia said Monday, emphasizing Watsons’ sustained annual double-digit growth.
The company operates not only at SM Malls but also across other establishments like Robinsons Malls, Ayala Malls and Power Plant Mall, with plans to further broaden these partnerships.
Watsons Philippines customer director Jared de Guzman said they do not plan to franchise the brand.
“We want to maintain the level of experience for all customers, particularly Watsons Club members,” de Guzman said.
The Watsons Club, which now has over 9,000 members, remains a focal point in enhancing the customer experience through exclusive perks and benefits.
As part of its commitment to innovation, Watsons is actively addressing the challenges of long queues, aiming to streamline in-store operations with O+O (offline plus online) solutions for a more efficient and seamless shopping experience.
Watsons also celebrated the opening of its 8,000th global store at SM Mall of Asia in Manila.
This reflects the brand’s commitment to making quality health, beauty, and wellness products accessible worldwide.
“The Philippines is a key market for us, chosen as the home of our 8,000th store because of its rapid growth and strong dedication to customer service,” the A.S. Watson Group said.
Since launching in the Philippines in 2002, Watsons has expanded to over 1,100 locations nationwide, serving more than 100,000 customers daily.
The newly-opened flagship store at SM Mall of Asia offers a modern layout that combines international standards with Filipino preferences, enhancing the shopping experience for local customers.
