A housing caravan was launched in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan with the aim to improve housing programs in the city.
The caravan is an initiative of SJDM Representative Florida ”Rida” Robes and Mayor Arthur Robes, with the help of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development, the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD), National Housing Authority (NHA), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), and Human Settlements Adjudication Commission (HSAC).
DHSUD Undersecretary Emmanual Pineda cited the importance of the caravan in line with the observance of National Shelter Month and the flagship program of the Marcos administration, the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.
“Through this Housing Caravan, we aim to educate, empower, and equip local communities with the knowledge they need to navigate the processes and programs of DHSUD,” Pineda said in a press release on Tuesday.
The program aims to give Filipinos access to ”safe, affordable, and dignified housing.”
The caravan also seeks to distribute housing titles and certificate of lot awards to qualified beneficiaries and conduct seminars to update various Homeowners Associations officials with the prevailing rules and regulations of the DHSUD.
This will also address the concerns and issues of the beneficiaries of resettlement sites in the city.
The four-day Housing Caravan will be held from November 4 to 7, 2024 at the City Convention Center in SJDM. —Anna Felicia Bajo/RF, GMA Integrated News
